SEPSIS training organized with Kathmandu Medical college

One day workshop was arranged for two days in the Kathmandu Medical College on 24-25th February 2017.
This training was organized through Skype.

Experts on sepsis from USA: Dr. Parag Bhattarai, Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, Fayetteville, North Carolina and Dr. Pallav Bhattarai,UT Childrens
Medical Center, Dallas were among the speakers.

Faculty from Kathmandu Medical College:
Prof. PR Sharma, Prof. KN Shakya, Assoc Porf.Dr. Sunil R Manandhar,Dr. Smriti Mathema, Dr. Anup Shrestha, Dr. Pawana Kayastha, Dr. Anwesh Bhatta and Dr. Rydm Basnet were other speakers. Nursing staffs from Department of General Pediatrics, NICU, PICU and emergencies attended this training. In total 26 Nursing staffs attended the training. Mrs. Sabitra Khadka, Secretary of the Department of Pediatrics coordinated the activities.
Cloth Distribution

Cloth Distribution On 16th of Bhadra 2069, in Collaboratin with Rotary Club Dillibazar the OSCN organized clothe distribution ceremony. The members of OSCN under the activity of Mrs. Asha Sharma collected the clothes from members and other OSCN friends. A total of sixty set of dresses were handed over to the officials of Nepal Multi Cultural Christian Church of Tinkune by the chairman of OSCN, Prof. Pushpa Raj Sharma. Dr. Uday Sharma(president of RCD) and Prof. Pushpa Raj Sharma along with other OSCN friends namely , social workers Mr. Shankar Shrestha and Mr. Shankar Pradhan shared in distributing the materials. The pastors of the Nepal Multi Cultural Christian Church shared their happiness and said the remaining packages will reach as far as Chepang villages in Chitwan.
STABLE Course for Neonatal Intensive Care Nurses
 STABLE course for Neonatal Intensive Care Unit nurses of Kathmandu Medical College
and Institute of Medicine, Maharajgunj was conducted on July 9 -10. This coursewas  conducted by Patrick Leblank MD FAAP from
The Brooklyn Hospital Center, New York. Total of 20 nurses completed the course. Dr. Patrick also handed clothes for children of the hospitals.
Another PFCCS course 2013

Second PFCCS course for Pediatricians, Pediatric Residents was conducted  on 9-10 July at
Kathmandu Medical College, Sinamangal, Kathmandu. This training was held with the help of PULSE, USA.
Total of 27 Pediatricians and residents completed the course.

general body meeting

The  general body meeting was held at Kathmandu on Friday, 12th of July at 5.0 PM. Following members attended the meeting which was presided by the President of OSCN Prof. Pushpa Raj Sharma. This meeting was also attended by special invitees: Dr. Luidson Pieere (President of PULSE. USA), Dr. Adeyinka Adebayo, Dr. Patrick Leblanc, Dr. Ansenia Asuncion, Mr. Allan Berry, Mr. Dhruba Raj Sharma, Mr. Mohan Prasad Banskota, and Dr. Uday Raj Sharma.

OSCN general assembly meeting granted the Fiscal Report of the year 2069; and the activities of 2069. This general assembly meeting also thanked the OSCN  help for the PFCCS course. And also thank Dr. Patrick Leblanc for the STABLE course. Members of general assembly also acknowledge the Dilli Bazar Rotaly Club specially Dr. Uday Raj Sharma for the activites of Clothes Donations and Health Camp. The PULSE team was given a plaque for helping the OSCN. This plaque was handed over by Noora Sharma, child ambassador of OSCN.

Free Health Camp at Nuwakot District

A shool health camp was organized at Talakhu village of Nuwakot District, 30 km from Kathmandu. 150 student were screened for anaemia,  cardiac, vision and hearing problem.  All children above 5 years were given Deworming medicines.   Anaemic  children  were  provided  iron  tablets/  syrup for one month. During screening one 17 year old adolescent has rheumatic heart disease ( first time diagnosed) in this camp and was referred to the heart hospital at Kathmandu. 15 children had anaemia, 30 children had otitis media, 6 children had refractive errors. A first aid box was donated to the Bhoomi Devi Higher Secondary School. 
A girl from Okhaldhunga village....

Sampada Shrestha, 9 year old child from village of eastern Nepal, Okhaldhunga.

She came to OSCN and diagnosed as Type 1Diabetes. Here she is seen in the dress provided by OSCN with her mother in the hospital. Her blood sugar was 526 mg/dl without ketosis. She was provided all the cost of the care for her insulin at home including the injection by OSCN and will continue to support her.

One day seminar on Pediatric Critical Care

One day seminar on Pediatric Critical Care was organized at Kathmandu Medical College for Pediatricians and Nurses on 11th March 2012. 40 Pediatriciains and 20 Nurses attended the seminar. This seminar was inaugurated by  Dr. Louisdon Pierre, President of the PULSE Organization.
Dinner Program PULSE team

The team members of the PULSE organization were facilitated by the OSCN and a memento was given to the PULSE team in a dinner.
One day free clinic
A free one day clinic has been successfully conducted in the village of Talakhu, Muwakot at Bhumadevi Secondary School
Pediatric Fundamental Critical Care Support (PFCCS)
Pediatric Fundamental Critical Care Support (PFCCS) Course was organized with the help of Pediatric Universal Life Saving Effort (PULSE) of USA from March 9 - 10 March 2012 at Kathmanddu Medical College, Sinamangal, Kathmandu.

This training was conducted by the PULSE team consisting of Dr. Louisdon Pierre, Dr. Patrick Leblank, Dr. Marilyn Kioko, Dr. Suresh H Haylad and Dr. Adeyinka.

24 Pediatrician from different medical colleges completed the course and received the certificate from PULSE organization.
